Computer hardware refer to the physical part or component of a computer such as monitor, keyboard, computer data storage, hard disk drive, mouse, CPU such as graphics card, sound card, memory, motherboard, chips etc. they are physical part that can be touch, in contrast software is untouchable. Combination of hardware and software form a useable computing system.
A typical computer cases the following part:
Motherboard: it holds the CPU, main memory and other parts and slot for extensions card.
Power supply: A case that hold the transformer, voltage controller.
Storage controller: it control hard disk, floppy disk, CD ROM and other drives, this controller sit on the motherboard or expansion slot on the board.
Graphics controller: it produces the output for the monitor.
The hard disk, floppy disk, and other drives for mass storage.
Interface controllers like parallel, serial and USB: is use to connect external devices such as printers or scanner.
Examples of external hardware are monitor, keyboard, mouse, printer, scanner etc.
