Computer can be define as an electronic machine that accept an input device, processes, stores in the disk and finally display it on an output device such as a monitor.
There are four basic building blocks in the functioning of a computer, they are input, processing, output and memory, the data is entered through the input devices like keyboard, mouse etc this input devices help convert data and program into a language the computer can process, the data receive from the input device is process by the CPU i.e the central processing unit. The CPU controls and manipulate the data that produce information, the processed data is stored in the memory or sent to the output device according to the command given by the user. The memory serves as a place to store Instructions, instructions are coded pieces of information that direct the activities of the CPU, and Data which are coded pieces of information that are processed by the CPU. Program is a group of logically related instructions stored in memory. The CPU "reads" each instruction from memory in a logically determined sequence, and uses it to initiate processing actions, processing the program will produce intelligible and useful results when the program sequence is coherent and logical.
